Journal paper selected to for article-level PR programme for Packaging Technology and Science

The Wiley-Blackwell PR team selected ‘Investigating consumer perceptions of refillable packaging and assessing business drivers and barriers to their use’ by Dr Vicky Lofthouse, Dr Tracy Bhamra and Dr Rhoda Trimigham for an article-level PR programme for Packaging Technology and Science in light of their belief that the study will be of great interest to the public and should be covered in the media.

Understanding refillable packaging systems: opportunities for the food industry

Dr Vicky Lofthouse invited to speak at ‘Sustainable Food Packaging Conference’ which will be held at CCFRA in Chipping Camden on Wednesday 11 & Thursday 12 June 2008.  The presentation entitled – ‘Understanding refillable packaging systems: opportunities for the food industry’ builds on the theory that creativity emerges when you take ideas from context and successfully apply them to another.  Through the presentation Vicky will consider how the lessons learned from prototyping and testing refillable packaging concepts for body wash products can be useful to the food packaging industry.

Designing Practical Solutions to Packaging Waste

Dr Vicky Lofthouse has been invited to speak at CIWM 2008 organised by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management and IWM Business Services Ltd. on 12th June 2008.  The presentation  – ‘Designing Practical Solutions to Packaging Waste’ will reflect on the design outputs of the recent DEFRA funded Refillable Packaging Systems project which focused on body wash products for the personal care market, and draw generic lessons from the project to support the development of refillable packaging across other sectors.
